From inventory management software to a European data network
Hexon was founded in 2000 and has been working on a single question from the very beginning: how do you ensure that vehicle data ends up where it is needed, in the right format and without unnecessary complexity?
What began as software for motorbike and car dealerships has grown into an independent data network that connects source systems and destinations. Today, dealers, platforms and software suppliers across several European countries use Hexon as a technical layer between their systems.
DV handles the distribution of vehicle data to and from platforms. ILSA makes that data usable for searching, filtering and vehicle presentation on the user side. Both products are built on more than 25 years of automotive experience and ongoing operational practice.

Where does Hexon come from?
Hexon connects source systems and destinations without itself being a source or a destination. Automotive data must be able to flow between systems, partners and markets. This requires a technical layer that provides structure, offers insight into status and adapts to change. Hexon is that layer. Independent, specialising in the automotive sector and developed from practical experience in data distribution.
2004-2015: Expansion
Through partnerships and continuous development, Hexon grew to become an established name in the Dutch automotive sector. Wheeler Delta made online stock listings accessible to dealers, and successive integrations with major players expanded the network. By 2015, Hexon had become an integral part of the Dutch passenger car market.
2020: International growth
From 2020 onwards, in addition to our home market, we began working on international expansion to support partners operating in multiple markets.
2000: Hexon is founded
Hexon was officially founded in January 2000. The first websites and stock links followed shortly afterwards. In 2002, the first integrations with external automotive platforms went live. This marked the beginning of what would later become DV, the data distribution network that today forms the core of Hexon.
2010: independence
In 2010, Hexon became fully independent following a management buy-out, in which all external shareholders were bought out. That independence remains central to the way Hexon operates today.
2024: The launch of ILSA
In February 2024, ILSA went live with its first customer. Built on top of the existing data stream, ILSA transforms incoming data into a fast and fully usable search environment. This marks a new chapter for Hexon: not only are we distributing automotive data, but we are also ensuring that it is readily available at the destination end.
